A loud thud sends the birds atop the tree scattering through the wind. The crackle of bark and timber was the only sound breaking the tension amongst the defiant eyes, as a tree struck by a boulder begins its descent. There no time to waste. The pupils peer in all directions, plotting their route, hunting for their targets. They look at one another, defiant, eager to learn of their intent. All it takes is to be one step ahead. With their fists choking the staffs of their spears, the tightening of their pouch, and the tension in their bows, they eagerly await. Orskan closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. The world around him a blur, as the tree continues to fall. All he hears is the crackling of the bark. He opens his eyes, and hears the log hit the floor. The loud cries of the villagers behind him roar up, and the four men take off. Spears in hand, the four men rush into the forest, each taking their own route. All he hears is his steps hitting the ground, as he eagerly assesses the environment, eyes springing back and forth, panting as he continues his search. There's no time to waste, but nothing meets his eye. Suddenly a glimpse of fur, paws breaking the leaves as a boar comes towards him. He throws his spear with mighty defiance, right the direction of the boar's trajectory. Hurling, fast and spinning as it dances through the wind. But no dice. The boar pivoted. It's unlike them to do so undeterred. Out springs Deino, eagerly running ahead and tossing his spear straight at its stomach as the creature turns. Straight into the heart, Deino made his first catch. No time to waste, Orskan continues his flurry. There's many more to be found. As Deino runs to his catch, Orskan runs deeper into the woods. Another friend. Larger, but still faster. Orskan readies his spear again, and tosses it, mightier than the thrust before. A straight hit into its chest, and the boar falls down. As it wiggles and writhes in anguish, Orskan runs over to his catch. He firmly twists the head on his spear in the creatures heart, rupturing it and giving the solace of a swift death, as he lifts it up and puts it in his pouch. Firm in his catch, he runs back to the starting line with all his might, carrying the heavy beast on his back. As he makes it closer to the starting line, he catches Deino unpacking his first kill. Orskan speeds up his sprint and preps the boar for a toss into his cage, throwing it with direct aim. A miss, and it would be anyone's point with the right speed. But the toss is good. Boar in, and Orskan runs straight back into the woods. "First one already?" one of the contestants yelled, as Orskan ran with stern defiance. He gave no response. To win the hunt he must find his last triumph. The hunter he ran past had his catch too. It would be a deep plunge into the forest for his next catch, and he must be steadfast. But lo and behold, a brown boar, a rarity in these lands, is seen feasting on a bush of berries in the distance. He's small, easily deterred by a bow. Orskan readies his bow to make his kill. Stretching the arrow close to his cheek, licking the tip of his nose to catch the draft, and waits for the beast to begin raising its head. As the boar raises his head, Orskan's fingers, gripping tightly on the feathers of his determined aim, lets go. The arrow flies steadfast in its direction, closer and closer as Orskan sees his kill before his eyes. The boar's swept off his feet. The arrow is lost, deep in the bush where the boar had feasted. The kill was not made by him, but he could still claim the prize. Orskan ran, as fast as he could, but to no avail. Deino, once again was there. All Orskan could do now is hope, as he ran back through the forest in the hopes he finds another on his way to the cage. Seeing Deino behind him packing Orskan's winning target gave him a chance to find that last boar. To his luck, his last hope was
