“Every person has their balance. Which is nice, cause I get to take it away!”
Kane “Bura” Poere is the Doctor of the Earthbound Rogues. Originally a scientist hailing from Halius, he was eventually offered the chance to be trained under the renowned scientist Meli Surami at the elite lab in Pon Zhen Shu, where he studied medicine and physiology at a young age. After becoming infected and burning down the entire country during his onset, he was captured by the Royal Navy, he was sold off as a slave, until being picked up by the Oleon Army’s Kern Helmdar, spending a brief time in the Naval unit under Arougas before joining the Earthbound Rogues, being in charge of taking care of wounded crew members and developing medicines and treatments.

Personality
Bura is very lackadaisical and nonchalant. He’s loose and easy going. Arougas tends to despise Bura after a while of his attitude, because even in a fight Bura feels compelled to be clever and witty. Arougas grows constantly more worried as Bura’s confidence grows, considering the positions he puts the crew in, such as speaking and singing loudly on a clear night in the waters, which triggers a Naval Patrol unit to pursue them, or how he often times disobeys combat commands which results in people getting hurt.
Bura is someone who helps raise the morale of the crew. He is a foil to Arougas in many ways. Terra supports his nature, understanding how important morale is for a commanding unit, though he does insist that Bura work.
He doesn’t take injuries too seriously until he helps stop Terra’s stomach injury, where he realizes that his captain just barely avoided death. Suddenly his demeanor begins to shift. As Terra’s confidence waned, so did Bura’s, until he hesitates in a battle which ultimately leads to his death.
Abilities
Flame Body & Pyrokinesis
Bura’s body is made up of pure fire. This allows him to be invincible to bullets and heat anything that goes through him.
He has a lot of control over this ability. He’s able to channel the intensity of the flames to enable fast flight, emit huge blasts of fires, shoot flame bullets after picking his nose, and absorbing other flames to make himself stronger.
The extent of his ability during onset was the ability to emit so much fire that he burned an entire island to cinders in hours.
His battle style is heavily influenced by his ability. He tends to fly around and disable people by burning crucial tendons or nerve endings, which stops people from being able to use body parts or throws off their balance.
He’s also able to move through objects in his flame body form. While most Infecteds are weak to Pacifite, he’s one of the few people who’s ability allows Pacifite bullets or projectiles to move through him.
His body is heavily damaged under poor weather circumstances however. His final battle was during a mild downpour near an ocean bay, resulting in the occasional transformation of his fire body spots to skin spots. One of these spots left him open to a bullet, which pierced his heart, killing him. Another weakness is pacifite, like all other Infecteds. However, the bullet that pierced his heart was copper.
