History
Palios, born Palir, is an Orphan originally from Halius. His childhood saw him grow in several orphanages within Halius and Ang Khen before being sold into slavery to a nobel in an apple orchard in Enitobyr. He was tasked as the guard of the orchard, given his infection granting him camouflage, where he thwarted any suspected invaders thieves or unwelcomed guests, until ultimately being caught off guard by Terra Anso. After being given a choice of free passage to where he wants to go or stay enslaved, Palios joined the crew.
Personality
Palios prided himself with his empathy towards his fellow orphans, something he lost during is lone time as a guard. Through his struggles he embraced his determination to never fail, tirelessly studying aim and control over projectiles of any kind. He prefers this method to avoid people from being able to react to a strike and instead be caught off guard. Through his tireless dedication to the craft, he also grew arrogant and over confident, which would often land him in trouble. Despite this, Palios was an eager leader, looking to be a stern role model to those around him and lead the charge in battle. The problem was that Palios was not the best strategist, and his arrogance would blind him to reality. During a discussion with his fellow crewmates, in an effort to showcase his leadership qualities he would refer to himself as a "good person", which was quickly broken down by Terra and Arougas. This altercation began his arc, where he realized just how much he still had to learn about the world. Initially it led him to reject Terra, until he saw the way he interacted with the Empress of Anazone and how we handled their conflict with Menin. Palios, seeing that Terra was focused on creating the best outcome for both parties, suddenly realized that being battle hardened and a capable warrior was not enough to be a strong leader, and devoted himself to learning from Terra and seeing this war through. He became further enamored with the crew once Arougas showcased his abilities as a commander in battle. Palios grew from someone who was arrogant and dangerously self assured to someone who was confident in his abilities and a strong judge of character, something that came directly from Terra. After the events of the Rogue War, Palios would begin applying these learnings by setting orphans free from detainment in corrupt overcrowded spaces and helping them find a home in a more capable community.
