Sucros

Sucros is a Borofitian historian of the Earthbound Rogues. His role is to remain in the know of what’s happening around the world, supporting Terra and Arougas in understanding how to approach different cultures and how to handle circumstances. His knowledge also shapes the crew’s vision.

Much of Sucros’ history is unknown, as Sucros is generally a very secretive individual. What is known is that he is around 35 years of age when he and Terra first meet, and that he is notorious.

Sucros has spent a lot of the war period bouncing between crews, betraying each and every one of them to either the Navy or to their adversaries, taking a cut of the treasure each time. He has always seen the war as an excuse for him to explore the world and learn as much as he can.

He has also at one point betrayed the Navy, resulting in a large fleet losing to an ambush he helped set up on behalf of the Mystic Rogues, who he’d later betray by getting one of their notable crew members imprisoned in Bars. This eventually led to the first ever break out.

At some point, he spots a four man crew who he believes he can exploit for favor in another crew. He offers to lead them to the Northern harbor, which at the time was lighter on Naval presence, and take them to the Borofit Plains.

While attempting to sell them as slaves to another Rogue Crew, a fight broke out as his reputation had preceded him, to which the four Earthbounds supported him in the fight. As Sucros made his attempt to slither away, Terra takes a harpoon shot that was headed his way straight through the shoulder. The moment leaves him feeling like he owes a debt.

Over time, Sucros grows fond of Terra especially. Terra shares his lust for understanding the world, and the knowledge Sucros provides him is enabling Terra to do good instead of fueling one’s greed. This mutual bond grows powerful, to the point Terra considers him vital in most strategic or navigational endeavors.

Arougas on the other hand is much slower to welcoming his membership status, as he is generally more cautious around those with a notorious reputation. Over time, Sucros and Arougas clash frequently, but gain a mutual respect, Arougas recognizing his value and changed intentions, and Sucros recognizing his strength and loyalty.

Sucros is infected with the blood of the wyverns of old. These beasts have evolved into winged creatures over time, but Sucros remains the last remaining wyvern of the realm.

He’s able to breathe fire, though this is not his main attribute. His talons and wings have razor sharp claws, and his tail is strong and heavy. He is capable of flying, but he’s also one of the first in the story to master the ability to transform parts of his body instead of his whole self.
